In this session, educators will explore contemporary poems with a focus on #teachlivingpoets using common strategies: annotation method, sentence summary, response, analysis, and remix, but with living poets that are accessible online. Educators will gain insight to living poets, poems, and successful lessons from high school classrooms across the country. / Inspired by the work of Amy Ludwig VanDerwater, Tom Romano, and Georgia Heard, Andy creates spaces for creative writing in his classroom. Authentic audiences and publishing opportunities reignite a love for writing many students feared they have lost. Experience this writing space as we read, write, and share together.
