I am a retired public school teacher.  I taught early elementary, grades 1-3, including multi-age classrooms for 20 years.  I then accepted a position at our middle school for an instructional coach/school improvement/ Title I coordinator.  I worked at the middle school in several capacities for ten years, before retiring.  I am now attending Western Michigan University and getting my Doctorate degree in English Education.  My academic focus is teaching writing and Holocaust/ Antiracist teaching.  I will take my exams in October of 2021.   In addition, I have been in a leadership position in WMU's Third Coast Writing Project and I am the elementary chairperson for MCTE.
